Description	On May 10, 1918, the Foundation Co.'s 50 piece band gathered outside the company lunchroom to tune up and play for the enjoyment of the shipyard's 4,000 plus employees. The Tacoma Yard #4 had its own band to play at various ceremonial functions, such as the laying of the keel, launchings and christenings. The band was kept very busy as the shipyard's goal was to build a ship every week.The Yard's "hospital" is pictured on the right with the cross.
